Leslie W. Jarrett, 80, of Moundsville, W.Va., a former Buffalo-area resident, died last Friday (Oct. 3, 1997) in his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Birmingham, England, he came to the United States with his family in the 1920s and was a graduate of West Seneca High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

A longtime employee of Allied Chemical Corp., Jarrett was a supervisor of personnel and safety. He was transferred to West Virginia in 1953 and retired in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Agatha Metzger; four sons, Wayne of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeffrey of McMurray, Pa., Kevin of Moundsville and Richard of Belmont, Ohio; a daughter, Sandra Wallenhorst of Great Falls, Va.; a sister, Muriel Agro of North Collins; and 11 grandchildren.

Services were held Monday in Moundsville. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, W.Va.
