ALLEGED ABUSE OF IMMIGRANT BY POLICE BELIEVED ISOLATED

Federal investigators have concluded that the alleged sodomy attack on a Haitian immigrant by police officers at a Brooklyn precinct was an isolated incident, not evidence of a larger pattern of brutality, the New York Post reported today.

"We haven't found any pervasive atmosphere of condoning, encouraging or even turning the other cheek in this incident," a law enforcement source told the Post.

Abner Louima allegedly was beaten and sodomized by officers on Aug. 9 after his arrest during a melee outside a Brooklyn nightclub.

Four officers have been charged in the attack.
