Virginia Klas Dorsey, a Buffalo native who worked as a secretary here before moving to Florida 47 years ago, died Sept. 26, 1997, in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was 89.
"She was very outgoing and had many, many friends," said her sister, Florine Whalen of West Seneca.
Brought up in South Buffalo, Mrs. Dorsey was a graduate of School 27, South Park High School and a business school in Buffalo. She was a secretary at several local businesses, including Cooper Paper Box, now Mod-Pac Corp., before her marriage to Oscar L. Dorsey in the 1940s.
Survivors besides her sister include a son, Roger L. of Bristol, Fla., and a brother, Donald Klas of Vass, N.C.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Sept. 30 in Tallahassee.
