The Miami Dolphins signed wide receiver Brett Perriman on Wednesday, one day after the former University of Miami standout was released by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Perriman, a Miami native, said he asked to be released from the Chiefs, where he had complained about not getting enough catches.
"Kansas City is good, the opportunity to catch the ball just wasn't there," Perriman said as he watched the Dolphins practice. "Being home is great, I grew up watching these guys, this was my team."
Perriman signed a one-year deal. Terms were not disclosed.
Coach Jimmy Johnson said Perriman would be inactive for Sunday's road game against the New York Jets.
