Florence I. Lauer, 91, a Lockport native who was a retired food-service employee at what was then North Park Junior High School, died Monday (Oct. 6, 1997) in Newfane Health Facility.

The former Florence I. Sprung, who lived on Chestnut Road, worked as a baker and server at the school in the 1950s and '60s, retiring in 1967. Earlier, she worked for the old Park Hotel in Lockport on parties and banquets and for the Lockport Senior Citizens.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport and the Newfane Golden Agers.

Her husband, Lloyd W., died in 1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Martin of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Lorraine Ziecker ofLawrenceville, Ga.; a sister, Esther Wilson; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held today in Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane. Burial was in Wrights Corners OVER 1 LNsCemetery.
