The Buffalo Chapter of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society received the E. Adrian Teaf Memorial Education Achievement Award at the national society's annual meeting in Dallas. The award goes to chapters that serve as models for educational programs.
Eric Mower and Associates, an advertising firm with offices in Buffalo, won the "Best of the Best" award in the television category at the annual marketing forum of the Bank Marketing Association. It was honored for its "Banking for the Real World" campaign for Marine Midland Bank.
The Printing Industries of America's 1997 Premier Print Awards included top citations to two local printing firms. Grover Cleveland Press of Eggertsville won the "Benny" -- a bronze statue of Benjamin Franklin -- in the finishing techniques category. Merrill Press Inc. of Kenmore won the Benny in the digital printing category for work done for Sorrento Cheese.
Wendel Energy Services Group of Amherst recently conducted energy efficiency and feasibility studies for Fieldbrook Farms of Dunkirk, the former Dunkirk Ice Cream, and Pohlman Foundry of Buffalo. The studies may lead to combined energy savings of more than $400,000 annually, Wendel said.
Panamerican Consultants Inc., an archaeological consulting firm based in Depew, has teamed with two other firms to win two separate $3 million contracts to perform biological, environmental and cultural resources services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Its partners are Northern Ecological Associates of Canton, N.Y., and Barry Vittor and Associates of Mobile, Ala.
