Chautauqua County sheriff's officers needed more than three hours Wednesday to track a driver who walked away from a spectacular crash in the Town of Sheridan.
Brandon L. LeBeau, 24, of Irving, eventually was found at a friend's house, officers said. He suffered cuts and bruises. One deputy said it was "amazing" anyone survived the crash.
Officers said LeBeau's fast-moving car left King Road about 2:45 a.m., hit a tree, flipped onto its roof, then hit and snapped off a utility pole. Part of the pole was pushed through the car and live power lines were wrapped around the car.
LeBeau was charged with speeding, failure to keep right and leaving the scene of an accident.
