Douglas P. Taylor, president, Taylor Devices, Inc. will be guest speaker at the annual fall conference dinner of the National Small Business Innovation Research Organization on Oct. 15 in Washington, D.C.
The program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Government, has paid out more than $7 billion to research firms with fewer than 500 employees to support scientific and engineering needs.
Taylor will speak on the positive impact the program has had on his company. Taylor Devices received $530,000 in 1980 for research on seismic shock systems used to protect the MX missile from nuclear attack. That seed money has since generated more than $18 million in earthquake damper business for the Taylor companies.
