Ruth Foreman, a longtime member of St. John Baptist Church and a self-employed seamstress, died Monday (Oct. 6, 1997) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness. She was 70.
The former Ruth Smith, a lifelong Buffalo resident, attended School 75.
Mrs. Foreman did most of her seamstress work from home. She also worked at Perry's Cleaners on William Street and Golden Wade Clip Co., which manufactured hair-care products.
Mrs. Foreman was an active member of the United Voices of St. John and also sang with another choral group, the Bells of St. John.
She was the widow of Joe Foreman.
Survivors include two daughters, Doreen Cunningham of Buffalo and Anita of Las Vegas; two stepsons, James C. of Buffalo and Joe C. of Rochester; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
