Pearl Turner, 78, of Perry Avenue, a retired employee of Walker's Laundry, died Saturday (Oct. 4, 1997) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
The former Pearl Nicholson was born in Cincinnati. She moved to Niagara Falls in 1942 and worked for the Carborundum Co. from 1944 to 1946.
Mrs. Turner then worked for 23 years for Walker's Laundry, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of St. John's African Methodist Episcopal Church and sang in the senior choir.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
Mrs. Turner is survived by a daughter, Ruby; a sister, Ruby Edwards of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. John AME Church, 917 Garden Ave. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
