I offer my sincere congratulations to the Pennsylvania couple who were the sole winners in the $25 million lottery. But I must say I am disappointed in the lucky lady's choice to keep her job. In these days of needed welfare reform and high unemployment, I think she should resign and make room for someone who really needs a job.
If the 69-year-old winner is afraid of staying home and becoming bored, there is plenty of community work to do. She could volunteer for Meals on Wheels and deliver hot food to shut-ins, visit residents in nursing homes or do work for the SPCA.
