Joseph F. Forcucci, 92, a retired Niagara Falls roofing contractor, died Sunday (Oct. 5, 1997) in Mount Sinai Hospital, Miami.
Forcucci, of Hallendale, Fla., was born in Niagara Falls and had been a longtime resident. He had lived in Florida since 1981.
He was a roofing contractor for more than 50 years, first as Power City Roofing and then as Joseph F. Forcucci Roofing. He also had worked as a stock clerk at Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield.
Forcucci was a member and former treasurer of the Cristoforo Colombo Society, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member and past president of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society and a past member of the the Loyal Order of Moose.
He was honored last year with a Special Citizen's Award from the Pine Avenue Business Association.
His first wife, Philomena "Phyllis" Pocci Forcucci, died in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen J. Bush; two sons, Guy L. of Charlotte, N.C., and James R.; two sisters, Jeanette Williams of Cheektowaga and June Cozo of Van Nuys, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 9:15 a.m., Saturday in St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Ave., after prayers at 8:45 in M.J. Colucci and Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
