Catherine Biamonte Iacuzzo, a native of Sicily who worked for the Niagara Falls Board of Education, died Tuesday (Oct. 7, 1997) in Niagara Geriatrics Center. She was 96.
The former Catherine Bongiorno, who lived on 16th Street, was born in Sicily and came to Niagara Falls with her family in 1908. She worked for 12 years in housekeeping for the Niagara Falls Board of Education, retiring in 1962.
Mrs. Iacuzzo was remembered by her family as a magnificent homemaker who enjoyed being with her family.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Her first husband, Philip Biamonte, died in 1949, and her second husband, Stephen Iacuzzo, died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, Philip Biamonte; a daughter, Dorothy Manfredo; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Ave., after prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
