John S. Gibson, a longtime employee of Alox Corp., died Sunday (Oct. 5, 1997) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was 77.
Gibson, of A Street, was born in Scotland and came to Niagara Falls as a child.
He graduated in 1938 from Niagara Falls High School and served with the Army in Italy and Africa during World War II.
Gibson worked for 44 years at Alox, retiring in 1982 as a maintenance lead man.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, the former Eleanor A. Ligammari; a son, John J.; a daughter, Sandra LaVerde of the Town of Niagara; a sister, Ina Ford of Lockport; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
