The Iroquois School Board Monday approved a new math curriculum that School Superintendent Michael Glover said he hopes the state will use as a model curriculum.
Last year the state Education Department used the district's new English language-arts curriculum for kindergarten through 12th grade as a statewide model.
Glover said the new math curriculum, which also covers kindergarten through 12th grade, was developed by a 13-member committee from different school levels throughout the district.
Dan O'Connor spoke on behalf of Monsignor Martin Athletic Association schools seeking admission to the Section VI Public School Athletic Association. O'Connor asked the board for its vote to allow the association to participate in Section VI competition.
O'Connor pointed out that a vote on the matter is coming up in November.
