Need some questions answered on fitness topics and injuries without making a trip to your health care provider? Clip this number for the Healthy Living hot line -- (800) 955-7848 -- and circle Oct. 17 or Oct. 18 on your calendar so you remember to call.
Sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association as part of National Physical Therapy month, the hot line will be staffed by physical therapists on those two days from noon to 8 p.m.
Callers can ask questions or request brochures on general health and fitness topics including the treatment and prevention of back and neck pain, sports injuries, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, and fitness and exercise for children, pregnant women, and seniors.
A word of caution: The hot line is not recommended as a substitute for a visit to a physical therapist or other health care professional.
