A 75-year-old woman is accused of punching a flight attendant in the mouth after refusing to buckle up on a flight to Philadelphia.
The flight attendant went through the cabin of the US Airways plane Saturday as it taxied down the runway, reminding people to fasten their seat belts. When Ida Versaci refused, the attendant bent down to fasten the belt, and the passenger lashed out.
The pilot turned the plane around on the runway and returned to the terminal at Albany County Airport. As sheriff's deputies escorted Ms. Versaci, of Schenectady, off the plane, she punched a security guard, said Albany County Sheriff James Campbell.
Ms. Versaci is charged with two counts of second-degree harassment and one count of resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
