Two-hour workshops geared for grandparents begin today and run through Nov. 17 in Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Snyder.
Because of economic needs and changes in the fabric of the American family, many grandparents find themselves involving in helping to raise their grandchildren, noted Mary Ellen Walsh, director of senior services for the Town of Amherst.
The workshops also are for those who simply want to improve their relationship with their families, she said.
Sessions are scheduled in the community center from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20 and 27 and Nov. 3, 10 and 17. People should call Phyllis Homes at the center in Snyder or Anne Marie Howard at the Amherst Senior Center on North Union Road for information.
