A Buffalo police officer was in satisfactory condition today recuperating from injuries suffered Sunday after his motorcycle was struck by a car on Richmond Avenue.
Officer Leonard Weber, 50, of the motorcycle division was helping direct traffic during a half-marathon run when the accident occurred at 9:30 a.m.
Central District officers said the driver of the car was John Hogenmiller, 71, of 77 Richmond. He told police he saw a break in the stream of runners and backed out of a driveway but didn't see the officer in the street. Charges are pending.
Weber was taken to Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna, with a possible back injury.
