Helen E. McCready, 65, a former Grand Island resident, died Friday (Oct. 3, 1997) in Omaha, Neb., where she had lived since 1977.
The former Helen Johnson was born in Buffalo and graduated from Kenmore High School in 1950. She worked for 14 years at Riverside Men's Shop.
After moving to Omaha, she worked for the Millard School District for 11 years.
She was a member of the Buffalo Club of Omaha, which was formed by people who were transferred from Buffalo to Omaha by Western Electric.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell L.; four daughters, Lynn Watts of Grand Island, Lori Card of Woodland, Calif., and Denise Rafe and Karen, both of Omaha; two sons, Dale of Grand Island and Dennis of Omaha; and 12 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, Omaha.[wstmr]
