Edna V. Bailey, an active member of the local Democratic Party and a committeewoman for many years, died Sunday (Oct. 5, 1997) in Niagara Geriatrics Center.
Mrs. Bailey, 82, formerly of Girard Avenue, was born Edna Bashant in Tupper Lake. She attended schools in Tupper Lake, married there and then moved to Niagara Falls with her husband, Alvin G., in 1935.
She had worked for a time at the former J.N. Adam Co. on Falls Street.
Her husband died in 1974.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Sr. and Richard Sr.; two daughters, Janet Baker of Pennsylvania and Carol Zmudzinski; two sisters, Viola La Tray of Star Lake and Ethel Williams of Tupper Lake; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.[nfschr]
