MAN STANDING ON TRACKS HIT AND KILLED BY TRAIN

A man ignored shouts to move off the railroad tracks and was struck by a train and killed early Saturday.

The unidentified victim was among a group of men who had been drinking near the tracks in this Rochester suburb around 3 a.m., police said.

In June, in the nearby suburb of Pittsford, two teen-agers were struck and killed by a freight train when one of them got her foot stuck in the tracks and the other ran back to try to free her.

The railroad bridge they were walking on was a popular teen-age hangout.
