Philadelphia's Allen Iverson and Portland's Isaiah Rider were suspended by the NBA Friday for improper off-the-court behavior.

Rider's agent Arn Tellem called the suspensions "nothing more than grandstanding on the part of the NBA" and said a grievance would be filed immediately.

Iverson, who was rookie of the year last season, was suspended from this year's regular-season opener because he pleaded no contest to a weapons charge in Virginia. Rider was suspended for the first two games of the season because of his no contest plea in California to possessing illegal cellular phones and an Oregon conviction for marijuana possession.
