TRACK, ACCESSORIES STOLEN FROM RAIL STORAGE YARD

About $51,900 worth of railroad track and accessories has been stolen from a state Department of Transportation storage yard south of Lockport Road, State Police Investigator David
Pinnock said Thursday.

An employee for Genesee Valley Transportation of Batavia, which leases some of that property, discovered 201 39-foot sections of steel track missing Wednesday, Pinnock said.

The track sections, worth about $16,000, were stacked on DOT property off 4805 Lockport Road. Also stolen were 683 joint angle bars worth $12,294 and 15,838 railroad tie plates worth $23,757.
