Thomas R. Hartsock, 62, retired director of security at Buffalo Psychiatric Center, died Thursday (Oct. 2, 1997) in his Town of Tonawanda home after a long illness.
Born in Renovo, Pa., he received an associate degree in criminal justice from Erie Community College. He joined the security staff at Buffalo Psychiatric Center in 1955 and became chief safety officer in 1974. He retired in 1992.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, the former Joan Daly; two daughters, Patricia Ann of the Town of Tonawanda and Geraldine Marie of Hume; four brothers, George of North Tonawanda, Carl, John and Dennis; and two sisters, Janice Young of Biddeford, Maine, and Thelma Marshall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 565 East Park Drive, Town of Tonawanda, after prayers at 9:15 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
