OLCOTT WOMAN FACES BOGUS TRADEMARK CHARGE

An Olcott woman was arrested Wednesday at the City Market and accused of selling clothing containing counterfeit trademarks, Detective William Thomson said.

Barbara Reid, 41, of 5854 Ontario St. was charged with trademark counterfeiting when an investigator for a private Rochester firm showed detectives she had placed the logos and names of companies such as Nike, Fila and Polo on sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, visors, headbands, jackets and pants without being licensed to by those companies, Thomson said.

Thomson said he made the arrest after Willima Rosica, an investigator for McCabe Associates USA of Rochester, purchased a shirt from Ms. Reid at the City Market and showed detectives they were not the real, legally licensed product.
