Lynn Poole Sr., a retired Allied Chemical worker, died Sunday (Sept. 28, 1997) in his Buffalo home. He was 78.
Born in Fort Deposit, Ala., he worked as a sharecropper and came to Buffalo in 1951. He once owned a small deli market and a cab.
After retiring in 1973 from Allied Chemical, he drove the taxi and provided van service for Promiseland Missionary Baptist Church and Varick Metropolitan AME Zion Church.
He also volunteered for the Fruit Belt Service Center's food program.
Survivors include his wife, Aubanese; two sons, Lynn Jr. and Michael Davis; a stepson, Arthur Lynn Williams; a stepdaughter, Janice Williams; three sisters, Annie Mae Berry and Mary Alice Brewster, both of Amityville, L.I., and Ethel Mae Cody of Chicago; two brothers, Silas and Hayes, both of Amityville; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Promiseland Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Gardenville.
