Frederick C. Humphrey, 87, of Bates Road, a retired farm worker and employee of the former Harrison Division of General Motors Corp., died Saturday (Sept. 27, 1997) in Medina Memorial Hospital.

A native of Somerset, he worked on the Riordan fruit farm in the Barker area from 1968 to 1976 and at Harrison from 1941 to 1955.

Humphrey formerly lived in Lyndonville for many years and attended Countyline United Methodist Church.

His wife, the former Loraine Swarthout, died in 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Williams of Atlanta and Janet M. Thiemke of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, George; two sisters, Melva of Conesus Lake and Pearl Kirkpatrick; five grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport.
