Cheektowaga-Sloan residents are lining up and eager to dive into adult swim programs at the new district pool, School Superintendent James P. Mazgajewski said Wednesday night.

The new pool at John F. Kennedy High School is now finished and now open. And is one of the last phases of the district's $16.5 million renovation plan it is a big hit with grown ups and kids alike, said Mazgajewski.

Residents can call to register for the community swim program now available, said officials. Adult education classes will soon be added, with the board's approval to hire four lifeguards.

District officials said they hope to have the pool open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. five to six days a week to meet

In other business the board:

Announced that a date is expected soon for a meeting with the fact finder to continue stalled negotiations between the district and the Civil Service Employees Union. Also at this time, Mazgajewski said that no progress has been made in contract talks with the
administrators union.

Accepted the resignation of business teacher Barbara Kramer who was recently called back from the reserve list.

Honored Felix (Phil) Braniecki, a grounds keeper with the district for 9 years who died in September.
