William F. Haggerty, 68, of St. Mary's Manor Nursing Home and formerly of Grauer Road, Town of Niagara, died Sunday (Sept. 28, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
He was born in Coolspring, Pa., and attended school there.
He lived in the Town of Niagara since 1952 but was a patient at the nursing home for the past three years.
Haggerty worked as a laborer at the former Airco Speer Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Niagara No. 1 Fire Company and a life member of the Niagara No. 1 Exempts.
His wife, Mildred Trayer Haggerty, died in 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Beales of Welland, Ont., and Patricia Fitzgerald; a son, William of Palm Harbor, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday in Grimes Funeral Home, Town of Niagara.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
