Walter Wozniak, 76, a World War II veteran and Olin Matheison Corp. retiree, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 1997) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a brief illness.
He was born in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. During World War II, he served as a seaman in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Tuscaloosa.
He retired from Olin Matheison as a chemical operator in 1971 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed travel and golf.
Survivors include his wife, the former Theresa Gabriele; a son, Michael of Cheektowaga; a daughter, Patricia Goodspeed of Centralia, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Church, 1419 Falls St., after prayers at 9:30 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
