Marcia Pitts Jemison, 45, of Buffalo, a homemaker, died Friday (Sept. 26, 1997) in Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness.
Born Marcia Pitts in Weirton, W.Va., she came to Buffalo with her family as a child. She was a graduate of East High School.
Before becoming a mother, she was an assembly-line worker for Chevrolet Motor Co. and a cook at Buffalo Psychiatric Center.
Surviving are a son, William; two daughters, Jacqueline and Lynette; her mother, Grace Pitts; three brothers, James of Baltimore, Charles and Mario; two sisters, Linda Traore and Wanda; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, 151 Richmond Ave. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery.
