John R. Spaulding, 79, of Pebble Ridge Drive, a retired employee of the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corp. in Lockport, died Tuesday (Sept. 30, 1997) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Warsaw and lived in the Medina area most of his life.

During World War II, he served overseas in the Army in the military police.

Spaulding was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Medina, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Medina Lodge 336, Free and Accepted Masons.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.

Spaulding worked for more than 25 years as a laborer at Harrison, retiring in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret E. Adkins; a daughter, Nancy Waters; three sisters, Mary Barry of Albion, Alice Gaylord of Salt Lake City and Suzanne; a brother, Robert of Maine; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's Church, 200 E. Center St.

Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina.
