URBAN LEAGUE HONORS EIGHT YOUTHS FOR SERVICE

Eight area youths have been recognized by the Buffalo Urban League for their work in their churches, schools and community.

Recipients of the "Doing the Right Thing" awards are William Brittain, a junior at Hutchinson-Central Technical High School; Abdul K. Coleman, a senior at Hutch-Tech; Tawania J. Fergus, a junior at Hutch-Tech; Bridgette Jackson, a junior at Nardin Academy; Kareemah L. Sabur, a sixth-grader at City Honors; Tameka C. Tribble, a 1996 graduate of Riverside High School; Carlissa Turner, a junior at Hutch-Tech; and Jennifer White, a seventh-grader at Buffalo Traditional.

The awards were presented last week at the league's annual dinner. John A. Johnson, commissioner of the state Office of Children and Family Services, was the keynote speaker.
