TWO BROTHERS CROSSING STREET HIT BY TURNING CAR

Two brothers were injured at about 3 p.m. Monday as they crossed a downtown street and were hit by a car making a right turn at Delaware Avenue and West Eagle Street.

One of the brothers, Robert Salamoe, who police said was an escapee from Buffalo Psychiatric Center, was taken to Buffalo General Hospital with hip injuries. The other, Timothy Salamoe, was taken to Millard Fillmore Hospital with leg injuries.

Police said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The driver was not charged, and police declined to identify him.
