Plans by Whiting Roll Up Door Co. to expand a building at its facility on Cedar Street in Akron have been reviewed by the Newstead Planning Board.

The Planning Board, which held a pre-application conference in August with Mike Whiting, vice president of manufacturing, discussed construction of a 20,000-square-foot addition to the rear of a building.

The addition includes two paint booths and a packaging and storage room. Planners reviewed environmental concerns, site plan requirements, storm water management and a sprinkler system.

Plans for the proposed expansion were submitted to the county and have been returned, Code Enforcement Officer Donnal D. Folger said Monday. The Planning Board will recommend approval by the Town Board when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The Planning Board also has granted approval to Gordon Kellenberg for a minor subdivision of his property on Hunts Corners Road. The 5-acre lot will have 249.5 feet of frontage. Planners noted that the brine pipeline right of way does not affect the property.
