Francis Burch, 88, of Winter Springs, Fla., a former Orchard Park resident, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 1997) in South Seminole Hospital, Longwood, Fla., after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, Mass., he served as a weatherman in the Army Air Forces during World War II and was stationed in Brazil. After the war, he joined USF&G Corp. as an insurance auditor in Baltimore and came to the Buffalo area in 1952. He retired and moved to Winter Springs in 1979.
He was a former member of Orchard Park Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He and Helen Button were married in 1946. She died in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Jay of Winter Springs; a daughter, Jennifer Morse of Syracuse; and two grandchildren.
There will be no services.
