TWO HOUSES DAMAGED IN SUNDAY NIGHT FIRES

The American Red Cross assisted residents of 649 E. Delavan Ave. after a fire broke out in the attic early Sunday evening.

Two adults and four children were given temporary lodging. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately available.

Arson was listed as the cause of another attic fire Sunday. It caused $5,000 damage to a vacant house at 255 Townsend St., near Broadway. The fire in the 2 1/2 -story house was reported at 7:17 p.m.
