A college student was injured Sunday when she joined partyers jumping off a 30-foot-high balcony into the arms of people below and no one caught her, police said.
The 22-year-old from the Oneonta State College was taken to Albany Medical Center. Her name was not released.
The woman was found semiconscious on the floor with a bloody nose and welts on her face. She complained of pain in her back and left arm, Firefighter Pat Pidgeon said.
Students told rescuers she had jumped off the balcony, Pidgeon said. He said he didn't know whether she had been drinking.
Several hours later, police investigating to a noise complaint at the same apartment building arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man on drug charges. Police said the two possessed cocaine.
