The YWCA of Niagara's Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program will spearhead local activities to prevent domestic violence in the workplace on Wednesday, which is national Workplace Education Day.
The U.S. Justice Department estimates that 60,000 incidents of on-the-job violence annually are actually cases of domestic violence that have spilled over into the workplace.
These incidents include threats, stalking and attacks.
The Y offers assistance in developing programs to teach employees and employers how to prevent domestic violence, both on and off the job.
