William J. Pilkington, commodore of Sandy Beach Yacht Club, and Mrs. Pilkington will be honored at the club's Commodore's Ball Saturday at 6 p.m. in the clubhouse. Dancing will be to the music of Joyride. Hosts will be Vice Commodore and Mrs. Robert Dubil and Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Varco. Amherst Chapter 555, Order of the Eastern Star, will honor Erie District grand lecturer William A. Grochowiak at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Amherst Masonic Lodge, preceding a reception. Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will meet Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the church to hear Jurgen A. Arndt, president of Niagara Lutheran Health System Inc., talk about the home's new Greenfield Campus in Lancaster, a facility for senior citizens.

Pat Fitzgerald, administrator of Blocher Home, will speak at a meeting of Beechwood Guild Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the home's auditorium. Clarence Book Review Club members will travel to Rochester Wednesday, leaving Clarence Town Park at 8:45 a.m. Ruth Rapport will review "Notorius, the Life of Ingrid Bergman" by Donald Spoto and "Some of Me" by Isabella Rossellini at her home in Rochester, preceding luncheon and a tour of the exhibit, "Rediscovering the Landscapes of the Americas" in Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester. Hamburg Women's Club will have a membership tea Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Hamburg Community Center. Anna Zankiw, Ulana Loza and Slava Derhak of Branch 49, Ukrainian National Women's League of America, will give the program, "Community Connections: USA-Ukraine." United Methodist Women of Kenmore United Methodist Church will have a luncheon Thursday at 11:45 a.m. in the church. Greg Stierheim, a member of the church, will talk about his trips to India and Zimbabwe which were arranged through the Mission of Peace Program sponsored by the Council on Youth of the United Methodist Church. Epiphany United Church of Christ will sponsor a fashion show and luncheon Saturday at noon in the church hall. The Dress Barn will provide fashions and special projects will benefit. Muriel Asma is taking reservations. United Methodist Women of Trinity United Methodist Church, Amherst, will sponsor a rummage sale in the church Saturday at 10 a.m., with a bag sale starting at noon. Homemade soup and baked goods will be available.

The church will sponsor a spaghetti dinner Oct. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church hall. St. Bernard Catholic Church will have a flea market Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school hall, 1988 Clinton St. Sodality of St. James Catholic Church, Depew, will have a rummage sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in the school.
