DRIVER SUFFERS FATAL HEART ATTACK

State police said a 69-year old Erie, Pa., man suffered a massive heart attack Friday afternoon while driving on the Thruway in the Town of Sheridan.

A car driven by Robert McCarthy was traveling west when it left the road and traveled more than 500 feet before striking a wire fence in a field. He was pronounced dead at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Rochester, shortly after the 1:15 p.m. crash.
