Concetta DeTolla, 98, a Fredonia resident for most of her life, died Thursday (Sept. 25, 1997) in the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, after a brief illness.

Mrs. DeTolla, a native of Sicily, retired in 1969 as a machine operator in the packing division of Red Wing Corp.

During the 1930s, she taught sewing in adult-education classes in Fredonia. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

He husband, Angelo, died in 1959.

Surviving are two sons, John of Dunkirk and James of Silver Creek; two daughters, Jeanette Joy of Jamestown and Catherine Granto; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Church, Cushing and Orchard streets. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sheridan.
