A Buffalo man with a history of looting newspaper honor boxes was arrested early today by West Seneca police for striking again, authorities said.
Mark D. Hill, 38, of Prospect Avenue, was charged with criminal possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief after he allegedly broke open an honor box in a parking lot at Transit Road and Clinton Street, according to West Seneca Officer Dave Wright.
"From what I understand, he pops the locks on these boxes and steals the money out of them," Wright said.
Officers David Mackey and Bill Leitzel arrested Hill after they found him hiding behind some shrubs near the vandalized honor box at about 3:30 a.m., police said.
Hill was arrested twice in the spring of 1996 for stealing from honor boxes and, in some cases, stealing the boxes in Buffalo, according to police.
