3 CANADIANS ARRESTED ON STOLEN CAR CHARGES

Three men were arrested early Thursday when they attempted to drive a stolen sports utility vehicle across the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge into the United States, State Police Investigator David Pinnock said.

Gustavo A. Rodriguez, 29, and Rudolph J. Schimanski, 56, both of Kampellford, Ont., and William C. Deen, 18, of Toronto, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Pinnock said the arrests were made after U.S. Customs officials discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen Wednesday.

Rodriguez also is being detained by U.S. Immigration officials because he is a deportable alien not allowed in this country because he has been convicted of a felony, Pinnock said.
