VOLUNTEERS

The Kevin Guest House, 782 Ellicott St., is a hospitality house for out-of-town patients who are receiving outpatient care and for families and friends of those at area hospitals. The house is in need of volunteers to answer the telephone and to assist guests in settling in when they arrive. Help is needed during all shifts.

The American Red Cross is seeking drivers for its Blood Services program. Drivers deliver blood from local sites to the Delaware Avenue headquarters and also transport blood to hospitals.

Drivers must at least 18 years old or seniors in high school and possess a New York State driver's license with a clean driving record. Hours are flexible with both short- and long-term assignments available. Vans are provided, or volunteers who use their own vehicles will be reimbursed for mileage. All drivers are insured while on assignment and training is provided.

The American Lung Association is looking for individuals who can help with the 1997 Christmas Seal Campaign. Assistance is needed with counting, recording and auditing donations. Volunteers are trained. Also, lunch and refreshments are provided. Call 691-5864.

The Buffalo Museum of Science needs volunteers in two areas:

At the Ice Age mastodon site near Springville during weekends this fall. Applicants must be at least 13 (under 18 must be accompanied by a parent) and able to do heavy physical labor.

As greeters at the Tifft Nature Preserve. An outgoing nature and an interest in outdoor education are required. Call 896-5200.
