The Elma Town Board Wednesday morning agreed to submit an offer to the United Methodist Church for a small 40-foot by 40-foot parcel of land to be used for building a barn to house large artifacts for public display by the Historical Society.
Supervisor Audrey Murdoch said an appraiser has valued the land at $2,800. It has an old foundation on it from a long-ago owner. Mrs. Murdoch said the board is looking for grants to build the barn if the church accepts the offer.
The board also discussed a request from the EMW Soccer Board for more soccer fields. Town Board members said it wants more specifics, such as a needs projection over the next five to 10 years. Most of the soccer fields are located in the Creek Road Town Park.
