Kindergarten through grade 5 enrollment in the Akron Central School District is "extremely high," according to figures presented to the School Board Wednesday night by Superintendent Alan R. Derry.

"We're up this year," said Derry. "We're averaging 25 to 26 pupils per class." He noted that that district enrollment has increased gradually over the years, and as of September, stood at 800. Projections show that number increasing by about 40 over the next few years.

Also discussed was an elementary school activity fee of more than $200 that has been of concern to some parents. Derry recommended forming a subcommittee to review the district's policy.
