Residents in the Village of Sloan may be eligible for home improvement loans at zero percent interest through the Town of Cheektowaga Housing Rehabilitation Low Interest Loan Program.
A homeowner in a two-person household with an annual gross income under $27,250 would qualify for the program. Loans ranging from zero to 4.5 percent and payable over a 10-year period, could be used for plumbing, heating, roofing, foundation and other repairs.
A homeowner's eligibility is determined by gross household income and household size. Sloan Trustee Diane Nowatka said residents can contact the village hall or the Office of Economic and Community Development in Cheektowaga for more information.
The program is administered through the town and is financed with federal Community Development Block Grant Grant funds.
