Edward F. Walpole, a retired accountant, died Monday (Sept. 22, 1997) while vacationing in Wildwood, N.J. He was 84. Walpole, of Kenmore, was chief accountant for the Hard Face Welding and Machine Co. of Buffalo. He retired 19 years ago.
Born in Oswego, he attended what was then Oswego State Teachers College and moved to Kenmore in 1942.
He was a past president of the Holy Name Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was a eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the First Friday Club, St. John's Senior Travel Group and Knights of Columbus, Kenmore Council.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jessie E. Lavere; three daughters, Ann Kittler of Natick, Mass.; Penny Burrell of Rochester, Mich., and Catherine Schara of West Seneca; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Church, 1083 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Prayers will be said at 9:15 in the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, 911 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
